A Drama workshop delivered to all Year 6 pupils in, for example, the beginning of the summer term, provides the starting point for various units of work in different subject areas - including Science, English, Humanities, Maths and Music - all of which are linked by a common theme and place emphasis on making learning explicit, developing critical thinking and creating links across the curriculum.

While all the units developed form a significant part of the last term's work in Year 6 and the first term of Year 7, emphasis is also placed on schools working together: Year 6 pupils making visits to the secondary school and Year 7 teachers working with Year 6 colleagues in the primary schools. If work is collated, teachers are provided with a wealth of information about the pupils and are able to analyse which skills need particular attention at the end of Year 6 and the beginning of Year 7.

The picture book Galileo's Secrets - providing visual resources - is included in the pack, together with a CD of all the necessary resources.
