Can you help with our e-reader survey?

Andy Goodwyn, NATE Past Chair and Head of the Institute of Education at the University of Reading invites you to help with an e-reader survey. You don't need to own or even have used an e-reader to be able to take part and will only take you a few minutes. (I know - I've done it! Tom)

Dear Colleagues

As a friend of NATE we know you care very much about young people and reading and, of course, your own reading. We have definitely entered a new era with the introduction of e-reading devices such as The Kindle; such devices have now been around long enough to become relatively common. We hear mixed reactions in society to this innovation and think it is time we found out how you are feeling about this certainly exciting development. We know many teachers are personal users and some are making use of these devices in school.

We would be really delighted if you could take 10 minutes to share your views by completing our online survey, here. The survey will stay live until December 5th.

We would be very grateful if you could copy this information to your colleagues. There are no gimmicky prizes and we are not promoting any particular device - we just know you are professionals and committed English teachers whose opinion is important. NATE is hosting this survey because of its importance but we are conducting the research as independent academic researchers at The University of Reading; we have full ethical clearance and all participation is anonymous. Our pilot survey has already produced some really interesting results and comments.

If you would:

  • Rather receive a paper copy
  • Prefer to send some comments rather than complete a survey
  • Prefer to talk to us over the phone

Then please email Andy Goodwyn at a.c.goodwyn@reading.ac.uk and provide an appropriate number and time to call you. To complete the survey online, simply click on the button below:
