Primary Matters Too!

By 9th September 2017

Following the huge success of the first ever NATE primary conference last year in Birmingham, the National Association for the Teaching of English is proud to be holding its second primary conference. If you’re a teacher, get all the information, innovation and inspiration you need in one single day. And if you’re a primary headteacher, meet your teachers’ INSET needs by sending them along for quality-assured CPD at an affordable price.
HMI Lead for English and Literacy – Sarah Hubbard – will open the day, giving an insight into the latest thinking from Ofsted on curriculum, assessment and inspection. Innovative school leader Iain Erskine of Fulbridge Academy in Peterborough (surely the only school with a dungeon outside the head’s office?) will be talking about creativity, learning and outstanding results. And rounding off the day will be internationally famous author and illustrator Nick Butterworth, to delight and entertain you.
Delegates can choose from a range of workshops, all provided by expert trainers, covering everything from fresh approaches to teaching grammar; turning pupils into great writers and reflective readers; and tackling disengagement and disenchantment. All this, and an extensive exhibition of resources for teaching literacy and English, the Roving Bookshop and a prize draw….who could ask for more?
