Campaigning

At NATE, we’re committed to giving our members a platform to share their perspectives on the key challenges and opportunities they face. It’s more important than ever to stand up for our subject — to protect English from those who may seek to undermine, sideline, or misrepresent its value.

English is a cornerstone of creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression for both teachers and young people. We’ve been proactive in providing an independent and informed voice for the English teaching community. Through our publications, research, and campaigns, we’ve reached out to members, fellow subject associations, and the wider teaching community to gather their insights and experiences. These contributions have been crucial in shaping the ongoing debate about the future of English teaching.
