Penguin Random House is hosting a free special event to mark the publication of a new study guide for My Name Is Leon by Kit de Waal.
Open to all English teachers, including NATE members, the event will explore how the new study guide can support the teaching and study of the novel in secondary schools.
The programme will include panel discussions, opportunities for questions and professional discussion, and a chance to connect with fellow English teachers. Refreshments will be provided, along with goodie bags curated by AQA and Penguin’s Lit in Colour team.

The event will be of particular interest to teachers currently teaching My Name Is Leon, as well as those considering introducing the novel to their curriculum.
Date and time: Monday 2nd November 2026, 4.30–6.30pm.
Venue: Penguin Random House UK, 8 Viaduct Gardens, London SW11 7BW.
Cost: the event is free to attend.
Teachers are welcome to attend with 1-2 colleagues, although each attendee must register individually.
