Ian Cushing

Ian Cushing is Reader in Critical Applied Linguistics in the School of English. After a career as a school teacher in inner London, he completed a PhD in Educational Linguistics in 2019 and has since worked in Higher Education across linguistics, education studies, and teacher education. His work spans critical applied linguistics and the critical sociology of education, and he maintains close links with schools, where most of his current research is focused.
